Relying on the policy advantages and location advantages of Fujian Province and Ningde City and supporting advantages of new energy batteries, SAIC Motor will accelerate the development of new energy vehicles, improve the layout of independent brand production capacity, and build the “traffic main road” of connecting Southeast Coast and the Southeast Asian market. It is worth mentioning that on April 27, SAIC Motor and Shanghai Tobacco donated a number of SAIC Datong V80 monitoring ambulances to Ningde medical institutions. This would be the fourth complete vehicle base for SAIC Motor’s own brand passenger vehicles. According to the plan, the Ningde Base covers an area of about 2,200 mu with a total investment of about 5 billion yuan. Brand products of Roewe and MG will be officially put into operation in 2019. With the vehicle project as the platform, SAIC Motor will continue to deepen cooperation, drive the simultaneous construction of local parts, logistics, and other industries and expand the development space of modern service industries such as finance and post-market.

Located in the northeast coast of Fujian Province, Ningde City has a world-class natural deep-water port Sandu Gulf; as a global leader in power batteries, Ningde’s local leading enterprise CATL has abundant capacity supporting resources for new energy battery. At present, Fujian Province has been making every effort to build a new Fujian with “active mechanism, optimized industry, rich people, and good ecology”, proposed a strategic plan to “build a strong province for new energy vehicles” and actively created a good business environment.

Looking forward to the future, SAIC Motor will continue to adhere to independent innovation, green development and open cooperation, fully revitalize and strengthen the real economy, and constantly push the Chinese auto industry to become “strong” and “updated”. At the same time, SAIC Motor will also strive to create a “new business card” for the high-quality development of Fujian, and actively make greater contributions to the local economic and social benefits.
