SAIC Motor's Jan-Nov sales surpass last year's total at 4.108 million units

SAIC Motor, a major Chinese automaker, announced that its cumulative vehicle sales from January to November reached 4.108 million units, surpassing last year's total and marking a 16.4 percent increase year-on-year.

During the 11-month period, sales of its self-owned brands totaled 2.666 million units, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 25.7 percent. New energy vehicles (NEVs) sales recorded total sales of 1.499 million units, up 38.8 percent year-on-year. Overseas markets totaled 969,000 units sold, representing a year-on-year growth of 3.4 percent.

Driven by the "three engines", SAIC Motor's annual sales for 2025 are anticipated to experience significant growth.

Self-owned brands continue to surge

In November, SAIC Motor's self-owned brands sold 316,000 units, marking a 9.5 percent year-on-year increase.

Cumulative sales from January to November reached 2.666 million units, a 25.7 percent increase year-on-year, and accounted for 64.9 percent of the total company sales, rising 4.8 percentage points from the same period last year.

SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle achieved sales of over 100,000 units in November, a 36.4 percent increase year-on-year, with domestic market sales almost doubling at a 97.6 percent rise from the previous year.

SAIC Motor Maxus delivered 24,000 units, an 81.3 percent increase year-on-year, while SAIC Motor-GM-Wuling maintained its leading position in key market segments with sales of 166,000 units.

NEVs reach new heights

In November, SAIC Motor's NEV sales hit 209,000 units, setting a new record after strong sales in September and October, with a 19.7 percent year-on-year increase.

From January to November, cumulative NEV sales reached 1.499 million units, representing a 38.8 percent increase year-on-year.

IM Motors sold 13,000 vehicles in November, a 34.3 percent increase year-on-year, marking the third consecutive month of sales exceeding 10,000 units. The new-generation IM LS6 and IM LS9, powered by the Stellar Super Range Extender technology, have become popular choices in the 200,000-yuan ($28,308) and 300,000-yuan NEV market segments, respectively.

SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle sold 42,000 NEVs, an impressive 277.2 percent increase year-on-year, and launched the first mass-produced model MG4 powered by a semi-solid-state battery, which has a safety performance exceeding the industry's highest standards by 20 percent. It is set for December deliveries.

Maxus sold over 8,000 NEVs, rising 196.2 percent compared to the previous year, with the RoboVAN and RoboBUS models showcased at the Guangzhou Auto Show.

SAIC-GM sold 11,000 NEVs, up 60.4 percent from the previous year, while SAIC-GM-Wuling delivered 120,000 NEVs, with the Wuling Bingo family surpassing 600,000 units in cumulative sales.

Overseas markets show steady growth

In November, SAIC Motor's overseas sales reached 107,000 units, a 13.9 percent year-on-year increase, with cumulative overseas sales from January to November totaling 969,000 units, a 3.4 percent increase year-on-year.

As the best-selling Chinese brand in European markets, MG delivered 285,000 vehicles in Europe this year, reflecting a rise of over 25 percent compared to last year.

From January to October, MG sold 38,000 units in Spain, a 58.48 percent increase year-on-year, while in France, sales reached 24,000 units, a 57.49 percent increase year-on-year, and in Poland, sales soared by 138.29 percent year-on-year to 11,000 units.

The MG electric vehicle lineup, including models like the MG4, MGS5, MG IM5, MG IM6, and MG Cyberster, is gaining strong momentum, with cumulative sales in the United Kingdom surpassing 100,000 units.

The sales structure is being continuously optimized, and operational quality is consistently improving, setting a new benchmark for Chinese smart manufacturing companies to go global.
