SAIC Motor rises to 125th on Fortune Global 500

Fortune magazine released its 2026 Global 500 list on July 28, with SAIC Motor ranking 125th on the strength of $91.301 billion in revenue from its 2025 consolidated financial statements, up 13 places from last year.

Since first entering the ranking in 2004, SAIC Motor has made the prestigious list 22 times, demonstrating its solid operating strength and sustained development resilience.

The Fortune Global 500 ranks companies primarily by operating revenue. In 2025, SAIC Motor sold 4.507 million vehicles, up 12.3 percent year-on-year, with a market share of 13.1 percent. Its consolidated operating revenue reached 656.24 billion yuan, up 4.6 percent year-on-year, while net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company reached 10.11 billion yuan, representing a sharp year-on-year increase.

The continued expansion of revenue and strong recovery in profitability provided solid support for SAIC Motor's 22nd appearance on the Fortune Global 500 list.

SAIC Motor's business currently spans complete vehicles, auto parts, mobility and services, finance, international operations, and innovative technologies. With complete vehicles as its core business, the company has built a business structure consisting of six major segments working closely together, empowering one another, and developing in an integrated manner. Its diversified industrial layout and full value-chain operating capabilities have provided strong momentum for SAIC Motor's continued presence on the Fortune Global 500 list.

Since the beginning of this year, amid intense market competition, SAIC Motor has remained guided by its user-centric philosophy, "More than Auto." It has accelerated the transition of innovative technologies from research and development to scaled mass production and installation in vehicles, turning cutting-edge technologies into tangible and enjoyable driving and riding experiences.

From January to June, SAIC Motor sold 2.045 million vehicles, with its growth rate outpacing the overall market by nearly 4 percentage points. It became the only automaker in China to surpass the 2-million-unit mark in the first half of the year, continuing to lead China's auto market.

SAIC Motor also delivered highlights across key segments.

Leading technologies such as semi-solid-state batteries and steer-by-wire systems have been applied to multiple mass-produced models under MG, IM Motors and other brands. Roewe released the Jiayue 07, its first AI-native vehicle, achieving deep integration between AI large models and the complete vehicle architecture.

SAIC Motor's self-owned brands continued to grow. In the first half of 2026, their cumulative sales reached 1.469 million units, up 12.6 percent year-on-year, with their share of the company's total volume rising to 71.8 percent.

NEVs saw cumulative sales reach 796,000 units in the first half, up 23.1 percent year-on-year, more than three times the industry average. Best-selling models such as MG4, the SAIC SHANGJIE Z7 and Wuling Binguo continued to post monthly sales of more than 10,000 units. NEVs from joint-venture brands also gained momentum, with models such as the SAIC-GM Electra E7, SAIC VOLKSWAGEN ID. ERA 9X and the SAIC Audi E7X seeing strong sales soon after launch.

In overseas markets, SAIC Motor's products are sold in more than 170 countries and regions. Overseas sales reached 735,000 units in the first half of the year, up 48.7 percent year-on-year. In Europe, SAIC Motor's largest overseas regional market, MG has retained its title as the top-selling Chinese auto brand for 11 consecutive years. In the first half, MG sold more than 190,000 units in Europe, up more than 20 percent year-on-year.

In May, SAIC Motor became the first Chinese automotive group to exceed 100 million vehicles in cumulative production and sales, a milestone in both the company's more than 70 years of development and in China's auto industry as a whole. The 100 million milestone reflects scale built over time, while 22 appearances on the Fortune Global 500 list demonstrate the strength of SAIC Motor's operations and development.

Looking ahead, SAIC Motor will continue to focus on user needs, deepen innovation in intelligent mobility experiences, accelerate its transformation toward personalized mobility services, and strive to make every SAIC vehicle a mobility partner that understands its users best, working with global users to create a better future of mobility.
