The SAIC Passenger Vehicle Co held its sales meeting for 2014, on Feb 25, where the operation directors for Roewe and MG signed a pledge with SAIC’s executive vice-president and SAIC Passenger Vehicle GM, Chen Zhixin, and SAIC Passenger Vehicle vice-GM, Jiang Jun, to end this year with sales of 265,000 vehicles and possibly 280,000.
Nanjing was covered in silvery snow, on Feb 18, when SAIC Motor’s Passenger Vehicle Co held its dealers meeting for 2014, where they focused on brand positioning and marketing innovation, with Chen Hong, president and CEO of Passenger Vehicles, and Chen Zhixin, executive vice-president in SAIC Motors and GM of Passenger Vehicles, on hand to address the gathering.
The Top Employers Institute held its “China’s best employers” awards ceremony, in Shanghai, on Jan 15, with 41 companies taking the honor for 2014, and SAIC Motor’s Passenger Vehicle Co coming in fourth for its development and competitiveness and claiming the title for the second consecutive time. The other top four winners were Shanghai Volkswagen, Sino-US United MetLife Insurance Co, BASF, and FAW-Volkswagen.
The SAIC Motor’s Passenger Vehicle Co defied the sluggish automobile market in 2013, closing the year with annual sales of 230,000, for a 15-percent year-on-year rise, which put the company on top in the Chinese brand market, according to the company’s latest marketing report.
SAIC Motor built and sold over 5.1 million vehicles in 2013, a year-on-year growth of 13.7%. It is the first Chinese car maker ever achieving annual production and sales of 5 million vehicles. On top of the huge volume, SAIC Motor also strengthened its core competitiveness and global business.
The SAIC Motor will roll out about 100 new models at the 11th China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition, at the Guangzhou Pazhou International Exhibition Center, Nov 22-30, with a theme of “Future technologies to drive your dream”.
When the organizers of the 2013 China Automobile Customer Satisfaction Index (CACSI) announced their results recently, the SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle Co Ltd was a big winner in spite of a lower-than-average satisfaction level in the domestic vehicle field.
